Introductory Experiential Class exploring the mechanisms of highly effective myofascial release therapy. Learn to recognize the First Barrier of Resistance - the best kept secret in the world of bodywork, and a powerful tool for releasing structural tightness and pain. Bring presence throughout the process of assessment and treatment, using minimal force that produces lasting results. Develop effective touch that is deep, but never aggressive. Learn to sense and engage tightness in the body three-dimensionally. Experiential learning through self-treatment and treating others. Maximum 12 participants for individualized attention.

This experiential Level II class will present ample opportunities to deepen one’s knowledge and “embodied” understanding of the First Barrier of Resistance. Via different exercises and exchanging treatment, we will explore:
How presence in the practitioner and recipient transforms the effectiveness of a myofascial release treatment.
Introduction to soft tissue mobilization and how it enhances the efficacy of myofascial release treatment.
Going deeper with multiple barrier releases.
Discerning “ease-of-motion” from “range-of-motion”.
Enhancing your treatment of others through the practice of self- care
Lots of table time for practice via guided participant trades
